The importance of structure pruning
When considering the needs of your trees and shrubs, it is important to start addressing their growth form at an early age. Trees that are allowed to grow uninhibited in all directions can often develop unsightly and hazardous canopies, while shrubs can weave their stems into unsightly thickets. As an arborist, I use methods that promote both health and beauty on woody ornamentals. Proper structure pruning at a young age for any tree or shrub, is much more cost-effective than tackling serious defect at a mature age. A young plant which is growing vigorously is able to withstand the stress of pruning much better than a tree which has entered maturity. Properly spaced branches along the trunk, and stems which allow for spacing and proper flower and leaf development can be easily established at a young age. Please consider contacting me while your yard and plants are still young. You will be glad you did!
